Mahindra Thar price cut in India
The Mahindra Thar, one of the most popular SUVs in India, has received a price cut. The price cut has been made possible due to a change in the GST tax structure for SUVs.
The Thar was previously taxed as an SUV, which meant that it attracted a GST rate of 28% and a cess of 22%. However, the new GST norms have removed the Thar from the SUV category. This means that the Thar now attracts a lower GST rate of 18% and a cess of 1%.
The price cut varies depending on the variant of the Thar. The petrol AX(O) variant has received the biggest price cut of Rs. 21,271. The diesel AX(O) variant has received a price cut of Rs. 20,678. The petrol MT Hardtop variant has received a price hike of Rs. 5,711.
The new prices of the Mahindra Thar are as follows:

Petrol AX(O) convertible | Rs. 17.49 lakh |

Petrol MT Hardtop | Rs. 13.49 lakh |
